7 Enemies Of Great Success
Most successful people I know will readily admit their biggest enemies, and they are almost never talking about themselves. The biggest enemies of great success are not the supposed “enemies” of your business, but that of your own fear of failing. I have been very fortunate in my life to learn from the failures of other entreprenuers. Here are a few of the biggest enemies of success that I have learnt from them.
You might be a highly motivated and intelligent person but if you do not take responsibility for your failures and you doubt yourself then you are not going to achieve success. People will not like uncertainty and they will try to make you doubt yourself as much as possible. This is why so many people are afraid to take responsibility for anything. So, instead they prefer to thrive under uncertainty.
1. Fear Of Failure
This is one of the most common enemies of success. People will consistently tell you that they don’t have any enemies or nobody that can beat them at their own game. The thing is though that it doesn’t matter who they are or how good at what they do. They still have you as their primary competition, and if you don’t pay attention to them they will take you down in a heartbeat. This is why I strongly recommend that you spend a lot of time doing the research necessary to become better at whatever it is you are trying to excel at.
2. The “Good Enough” Syndrome
If you don’t like what you’re doing most of the time you will fail. Most people feel that they are good enough but this is not true when it comes to making success happen. Have you ever heard the saying, “If you think you are good enough, you probably are not?
” Avoid the comfort zone and go against the grain and do something that will make you uncomfortable. By forcing yourself to do things that are not comfortable, you will become better at them and you will have more success.
3. Negative People
Have you ever been around negative people? These are the people who bring negativity into your life. They try to stop you from achieving success because they have an agenda that they think will help you. Avoid these people. Instead, listen to the advice that they share, and embrace everything that you learn.
4. Ego
The ego is one of the greatest enemies of success because it prevents us from seeing what we truly are. One cannot live a successful life without identifying who they truly are. Ego is also one of the major causes of failure. One never comes to true success. True success is a journey, not a destination. While you can certainly reach your goals and objectives, you should never forget to also remember that there are always bigger obstacles to face and greater mountains to climb.
5. Doubt And Fear Is The Enemy Of Faith
Self-doubt can be the greatest enemy of success. When you are self-doubting and constantly questioning whether you are doing a good job then you are building yourself a fortress of self-doubt, where it is impossible for you to move forward no matter what you do. If you continually feel like there are underlying problems you are blocking yourself from success, whether it is a fear of failure or a need to validate yourself. When this happens, you are building yourself a castle in the sand, a fortress of self-doubt where it is impossible for you to move forward no matter what you do.
6. Misconceptions
People live in an abundance of various beliefs, and some are just not true. Your success depends upon your ability to identify false truths and spread them in order to turn them into realities. In addition to this false reality, there are many people who would like to use you as their personal punching bag. Identifying these types of people and removing them from your life is the single most important factor in your ability to achieve success.
7. Insecurity
People who have insecurity feel they are not good enough, or that they don’t have what others think they have. They also have an enormous amount of stress and worry about themselves and their future, and if you take responsibility as a new person for the growth you want to experience then you can start to take responsibility for the growth you want to experience. All the people who block your progress and hinder your success are the ones with many things to hide and take responsibility for. Once you take responsibility for yourself you become vulnerable to their attacks and can easily be defeated.
Lastly, this short video sums up this self motivation topic with Tyler Perry’s key quote.
“ Don’t stop. Narrow your focus to one idea, and make it work. That will give birth to all of the others. All you can do is plant the seed and water it.” — Tyler Perry
